The Big word of the day is anti aging. There are many anti aging solutions offered online. There are supplements, gadgets and creams. The question you ask yourself, “what really works”?
It is amazing to me personally that these creams claim to remove wrinkles. I have tried several of them, and to my tremendous disappointment find that no wrinkles disappeared.
One cream claimed to remove these wrinkles in one hour. I have it two hours and nothing happened. The dollars that are spent on these remedies is mind boggling.
What can we do for yourselves that will slow down the aging process? Looking in the mirror and seeing those wrinkles crop up is downright depressing. After a lot of research, and living these rules myself, I have noticed a slowing down process in the facial and body aging arena.
1. Facial exercise is great. I have started a program with “Facial Magic” and have been doing the exercises for six months. Dramatic changes…NO! My face just seems to look younger, people comment and the best part is that it is not getting worse.
2. Exercise regularly as this creates oxygen in your body, a glow on your face and energy for a snappy step. Plus your mood improves after a brisk walk.
3. Keep your face moisturized all day long especially in a dry climate
4. Protect yourself from the sun with a good sun block
5. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and avoid the junk food and all white products such as bread, potatoes and rice
6. Stand straight…This alone will take years off your appearance
7. Learn all the makeup tricks to look younger, and there are many. Go light on the makeup with subtle colors
8. Teeth whitening…There are many teeth whitening products on the market, and they work great
9. Facial brushing…Buy the correct brush and use regularly for improved circulation
10. Enjoy life and laugh a lot
11. Take off those extra pounds so you can comfortably wear more youthful clothes
12. SMILE…..It takes at least ten years off your face
These are just a few anti aging solutions you can do. Very little money is invested and you will see a great improvement. These solutions are also go for your general well being and health. Get on the bandwagon today, and tomorrow you will be so pleased with all the positive changes.

Tough times today. That is an understatement. We are blessed with more advice than we could ever follow. Go online and keyword retirement, finances, spending today, inflation, rising prices and on and on.
But what can we do about this today…I have a few ideas to save some dollars. We have been doing these things for the past few months and are saving between three hundred and five hundred dollars per month.
1. Grocery shop twice a week, and buy only what you will need for three or four days. This eliminates buying stuff when you are kind of low.
2. Wash only large loads of clothes
3. Run the dishwasher only three times a week
4. Cut back on dinners out…we go to the local bar/restaurant and sit at the bar ordering a few drinks and bar snacks during happy hour….We used to eat out twice a week.
5. Turn the water off when not using
6. Ration the paper towels and use rags and sponges
7. Make my budget soup for boomers (It lasts for three dinners and one lunch)
8. Do your errands in groups
9. Pay attention to sales on food (only if it is something you normally buy)
10.Go to the library or exchange books with friends.
These are just a few ideas, and you will not feel like you are deprived.

Baby Boomer Genius
There are many baby boomer geniuses out there, and many more who have accomplished great feats. One who comes to mind and is at the top of the list, and has had tremendous influence on so many of us. His name is Anthony Robbins. He created an empire with an idea. However his idea is so powerful that it has affected millions of people. And of course the idea has many facets, and has developed with our changing times. Human behavior has been a popular topic for many years. Norman Vincent Peale had a simple strategy for the power of positive thinking. It was pretty simple at the time, but has become far more complicated as time has progressed. It is compared to how lives have also become more complicated. For example televisions that used to just have on and off buttons…Well you know the rest of the story.
I personally became acquainted with his teachings about eighteen years ago, when his remarkable journey was destined for tremendous success. After reading about his dark times and seeing what he accomplished afterwards was of great inspiration. He had gained a lot of weight, difficulty paying his bills and not at all happy with his life. It is said that he had to wash his dishes in his bathtub. However, this situation did not last long. It is proof that anyone can make radical changes in life at any point, no matter what the circumstances are. People tend to get stuck and feel that the situation they are in will never change. So the self pity grows by leaps and bounds not leaving much room for developing new and creative ways to improve and enjoy life.
To my knowledge, he does not possess any advanced degrees but studied voraciously on his own. He always had great insight into people’s psyche and what needed to be done to solve enormous problems. There is also proof in life that we can achieve and accomplish great feats and have many of the things we want with a passionate dream. However it is not enough to just want and dream about something, but the commitment has to be so great that you live with your dream 24/7.
In his books and tapes there are many examples, exercises and methods for achieving these goals. Just when you think everything has been said and every guru has had his day something new emerges. It proves there is always room for one more great idea.
Anthony Robbins has changed many people’s lives, but only by people who were willing to follow his teachings and stick with them. How many times have you gone to a seminar and came out a “changed person”, only to lapse back into old habits in a few weeks. It is a daily commitment and effort to create these changes in life.
Robbins is a man who practices what he preaches, and is blessed with untiring energy and enthusiasm. Not only has he created a great empire, but has given back in so many ways. Of course it does help that he is tall, handsome and dynamic. He is on the end of the baby boomer ladder, but we can proudly call him one of us.

It has been a long lifetime of friends. They come and go. They pop into your life for many reasons. Sometimes you make a friend because you have an activity in common. The activity ends, and sometimes the friendship does also. Sometimes we have a friend because they live next door, and someone moves and once again the friendship ends.
We have moved many times over the past years, so I have said goodbye to many friends. I have found as we age the friendships become more challenging to develop. I have managed to stay in touch with about three or four friends over the past twenty five years. I do miss having them close by. When you develop that special bond, the friendship is so easy. There is no judgment and uncomfortable feelings.
We have moved to our present home about a year ago, and have not made a really good friend as yet. I have found that friendships in later years is often based on sharing an activity, and takes a long while to develop. So I am learning some patience. It boils down to making some changes and perhaps even getting involved in things that may not seem important. I will have more to say about friendships in future blogs.
